VIDEO: Fox's Liz Trotta Says Palin And Bachmann Took Same History Course At "Fleabag U"

Fox’s Saturday conservative commentator Liz Trotta came out swinging this weekend, taking down both Rep. Michele Bachmann and colleague Sarah Palin for their historical inaccuracies.

Quoting Ezra Klein and Matt Taibbi, Trotta joked the two shared an alma mater in “Fleabag U,” and that “as far as flubs go, they are leading the field.”

Trotta didn’t seem surprised that Rep. Bachmann and Palin were being compared: “it’s almost preordained because it seems to be they both took the same american history course, and it may have been at Fleabag U.” She chided them for both their latest gaffes– the Paul Revere comments that sparked controversy from Palin, and Rep. Bachmann’s “Lexington and Concord and in New Hampshire” quip. Using various quotes by Taibbi and Ezra Klein (“Rep. Bachmann is the candidate that Sarah Palin is supposed to be”), she argued that “they can’t get away from these criticisms, and even laughed at Rep. Bachmann’s claim that she has a “scholarly background.” The scathing critique seemed to have left anchor Uma Pemmaraju, who Trotta threw back to, rather speechless.

You know it's bad when teabagger info central is critisizing you.

This ALSO tells you that neither Palin, nor Bachmann, are Fox's "Anointed One". They're actively trying to steer their sheeple away from those two, neither of whom can win. Watch to see who gets the favorable coverage from Fox, and you'll see the probably GOP nominee.

Actually, I'd like to see the long-form of their Fleabag U degrees.

I doubt if they could even get accepted there!!!

LOL ... I think we should start a "conspiracy" that these degrees are phony and they shouldn't be allowed to run until they produce the real deal ... maybe Jermose Corsi and WND can help us ; )

Stop the ignorance.

The GOP is going to find that its continual replay of unelectable candidates is wasting the precious time they already don't have enough of...

Sarah 'Victim' Palin and Michelle 'batsh!t crazy' Bachmann are totally unelectable, even moderate Republicans won't vote for them. That's bad.

Michelle Bachmann is sucking the air out of the room, no other candidate can get enough media time to become well enough known to garner any significant number of votes.

It must be painful to be a member of the GOP and be dying from overexposure to Michelle Bachmann.

Palin and Bachmann have both made patriotic pretentiousness a major part of their shtick, and so they feel compelled to share their vast wealth of knowledge and personal insights about American History with the public.

Unfortunately, neither is disciplined enough to do her homework before discussing historical events about which they are quite ignorant, nor do they appear willing to publicly acknowledge their frequent errors, instead engaging in ad hoc historical revisionism in an effort to save face.

It seems like this is part of Tea Party conservatism ... never, ever say you're sorry or admit a mistake ... even if it makes you look worse.

In fairness, Sue, all politicians are schooled in denying wrongful behavior or misstatements. What makes the Tea Party and, lately the Republican Party in general the grossest offenders is that they deny being wrong about American History, economics, tax policy, evolution, origin of "gayness," Islam, etc., all of which are easily demonstrated to be false. When refusal to admit error rises to the level of pure misinformation, "denial" becomes qualitatively different and vastly more dangerous as part of a hidden agenda. It's called "propaganda" and, as Adolph Hitler, knew too well, a lie repeated often enough, gathers the power of the truth.

I agree with your points but would add one thing. IMO, conservatives beginning with GWB began denying mistakes (remember that famous presser when he couldn't name one) and also seeing that as some sort of bizarre personal "quality".

That seems to have escalated with the Tea Party cons ... Palin has had public feuds with almost 100 people and will never say she's wrong. I don't know why they admire this ... especially from the party who proclaim to admire " personal responsibility" : )

Bachmann and Palin strike me as incredibly lazy, with no intellecutal curiosity, and no personal integrity. Am I being sexist? Maybe a little, but, as a professional woman, I have seen others like these two: they coast on their charm and good looks, and don't get called on the carpet too often. It has to really count before anyone will challenge their nonsense. Unfortunately for these two, there are still some of us who think that being POTUS does count and we won't put up with the crazies.

How bad do you have to be before fox news throws you under the bus?

Fox has been working overtime to shut both of these women down. Even fox understands neither are faintly electable and will only split the wingnut vote.

I have been thinking about sending bachmann a few dollars, watching her run will be almost as much fun as palin.

When Fox calls you a doofus, you know you've hit a new low.

I think that the treatment of Bachmann and Palin BY REPS AND CONS is sexism.

They seem to give them a pass solely on the strength of their decent looks and their genetalia. They're seen as firebrands, even though the fires they start might burn the entire country to the ground. And for anyone to question or critique their blubbering stupidity is to be seen by the right as an attack on Conservative womanhood.
